Yossi Ghinsberg journeys into the heart of the Amazon rainforest with three fellow travelers. Beginning as an ordinary trip in the jungle, Ghinsberg gets pulled into a fight for survival after a terrible accident, being forced to fend for himself for weeks. Without a knife or any kind of survival training, he must improvise shelter and forage to survive. Ghinsberg begins to give up hope after losing all sense of direction, wondering if he will ever survive the jungle.
The story is faithful to the actual events lived by Ghinsberg on the Tuichi River, where currently stands the Madidi national Park in Bolivia.
